Job Description Job Purpose
To supplement the skillset and offering of the existing SLR Africa Water and Wastewater Engineering team based in Fourways. To lead and provide technical and project management support on water engineering related projects for the public and mining sectors, as well as to assist with business development to ensure growth in the sector for the company.
Minimum Requirements: A civil engineer with at least 10 years of experience in water engineering and hydraulic design. Professionally registered with ECSA (PrEng) At least 5 - 10 years of experience with general engineering design, project management, construction contract administration and construction site supervision. Proficient in Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS. Valid driver’s license Must be willing to travel
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities: Design of water related infrastructure including open channels, culverts, silt traps etc. Project management on multi-disciplinary project; including the management of an internal team and direct liaison with clients and other consulting teams Mentorship and management of junior engineers. Site visits and inspections within SA and Africa. Delivery of reports, drawings and related design documents General assistance with broader civil engineering activities. Skills/ Attributes: Sound writing and communication skills Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong mentoring skills Strong organizational and planning skills Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Project management skills
