Labor

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to planlayout and procedures. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based onrequirements. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cutmaterial with powered saws to match measurements). Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded. Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment invarious positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead). Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps. Ensure that each jobcard is closed off timeously. Ensuring that allelectrical equipment is in safe working order in line with current regulations. Responding quickly toany emergencies. Working within apreventive maintenance program that will minimize service repairs in the longrun. Ensure that the jobis complete as per job card requirements. Make recommendationsfor continual improvement and support improvement initiatives thecompany undertakes. Anyother reasonable task that may be required by management

Qualifications

Grade 12 Relevant Technical Artisan Qualifications Occupational Certificate (Welder) RED SEAL

Experience

2 Year Proven experience as handyman

Skills

Basic understanding of electrical, plumbinggeneral maintenance Ability tosafely use common power and hand tools. Knowledge ofusing a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
