Duties:

• Set up and prepare the guillotine shearing machine for operation, including adjusting blade clearance and back gauge settings.
• Load metal sheets onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate cutting.
• Operate the guillotine shearing machine controls to initiate the cutting process and produce metal sheets to the required dimensions.
• Monitor the cutting process and make adjustments as necessary to ensure clean, straight cuts and minimal material waste.
• Inspect cut metal sheets for quality and accuracy, identifying any defects or irregularities and taking corrective action as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on the guillotine shearing machine, such as blade sharpening, lubrication, and cleaning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or malfunctions that may arise during the cutting process.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating guillotine shearing machines in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with different types of metals and their cutting characteristics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in metalworking or related field is a plus.
