Job Summary:

SolarQuest, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking a highly skilled and certified Electrician with a Wireman's License to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar power systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest safety standards. Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair solar power systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment.
  • Conduct electrical inspections to identify and troubleshoot system issues, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to plan and execute solar installations in residential and commercial settings.
  • Perform electrical wiring and connections, ensuring proper grounding and system integrity.
  • Test and commission solar systems to verify functionality, performance, and safety.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions in solar power systems.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide technical guidance, answer inquiries, and address concerns related to solar power installations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, including work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and safety regulations related to solar power systems.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Valid South African Wireman's License is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably with specialization in solar power systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and electrical codes and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficient in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or training in renewable energy, photovoltaic systems, or solar installation.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the renewable energy industry.
