Job Description
The Senior Solution Application Architect will be responsible for developing and
implementing the application architecture strategy as part of the Application Transformation
Readiness project. This role is critical for ensuring that the financial systems within the
Provincial Treasury are ready for future upgrades and align with broader IT and business
objectives.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Architecture Strategy Development: Define, implement, and maintain the application architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with Provincial Treasury’s IT roadmap and the broader Application Transformation Readiness (ATR) project.
  • Assessment & Optimization: Assess the current financial applications landscape, identifying areas for optimization, modernization, and consolidation.
  • Application Performance Management (APM): Lead the implementation of APM tools and techniques to monitor and improve the performance of applications within the Treasury’s IT environment.
  • Scalability and Maintainability: Design applications to be scalable, secure, and easily maintainable while ensuring alignment with the Treasury's evolving business needs.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with IT, business teams, and senior management to understand requirements and ensure the application architecture supports the overall business strategy.
  • Leadership & Guidance: Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and infrastructure teams, ensuring adherence to architectural best practices and standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Innovation: Proactively identify potential performance issues or bottlenecks and implement solutions to resolve them. Stay up to date with emerging technologies to foster innovation.
  • Change Management: Support change management activities and facilitate smooth transitions as new applications or systems are introduced

RequirementsRequired Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade applications.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale application transformation projects, especially in the public or financial sector.
  • Strong experience with Application Performance Management (APM) tools and techniques.
  • Expertise in application architecture, design patterns, and integration methods.
  • Experience in working with financial systems and understanding their business processes.

Skills:
  • Strong understanding of application scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Ability to assess and optimize complex application landscapes.
  • Deep understanding of financial systems architecture and integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials, IFMS).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and related technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable solutions for stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with financial systems (IFMS, SAP, Oracle Financials, etc.).
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
  • Certification in APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics)


Requirements
