Payroll Administrator

- Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g. salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
- Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems.
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new recruits, terminations, increases) and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, bargaining councils and internal policies.
- Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants.
- Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.
- Collaborate with other internal departments.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions.
- WCA calculations and submissions.
- IOD submissions.
- Direct EFT transfers to employees’ bank accounts.
- Reconciliation and payments of all third-party payments.
- Administration, reconciliation and payment of all Union and Bargaining Council fees.
- Employment Equity record keeping.
- Full SARS / UIF reporting including monthly and annual returns.
- EMP201 and EMP501 submission.
Requirements
- Proven 10 years’ experience in payroll role.
- Training certificates and or qualifications in Payroll essential.
- Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws.
- Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes.
- Familiarity with payroll software (SAGE 300)
- Meticulous.
- An analytical mind and good mathematical skills.
- Management and leadership skills.
- Assertive.
