Toolmaker - Manufacturing

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our client's manufacturing team in Pietermaritzburg. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and maintaining tools and dies used in the manufacturing process.

• Designing and manufacturing tools and dies according to specifications
• Maintaining and repairing tools and dies to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborating with engineers and production workers to solve tooling-related issues
• Utilizing CAD/CAM software and CNC machinery to create and modify tools and dies
• Conducting quality control checks to ensure tools and dies meet required specifications
• Keeping accurate records of all tool and die modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities
• Staying up-to-date with advancements in tool and die manufacturing technologies
• Ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment
• Trade Test Certificate as a Toolmaker
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC machinery operation
• Strong knowledge of tool and die design and manufacturing techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in press tooling and injection molds is preferred
• CNC experience, particularly in milling machines and wire cutters, is an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience
