Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and creative Sous Chef to join our culinary team at a prestigious 5-star lodge in Limpopo. As the right hand of the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing the kitchen team, ensuring the highest standards in food preparation, presentation, and service. This role is ideal for a passionate chef with strong leadership skills who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, kitchen management, and maintaining culinary excellence.
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring that all food is prepared in accordance with lodge protocols.
- Manage inventory, control food costs, and place orders to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Step in as the lead chef in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring continuity in service and standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, ideally in a luxury lodge or fine-dining setting.
