Vineyard Manager

Our client in the wine industry is looking to hire a Vineyard Manager to join their team in Swartland as soon as possible.

• Salary: R25 000 (after benefits) depending on experience 
• Bakkie (transport)
• Accommodation on the farm

Non-negotiable requirements: 

• Vineyard management experience is a must.
• Code 10 or code 14 drivers licence essential
• Some experience with animal husbandry, particularly sheep and cattle would be a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibilities include working closely with the labour team (external).
• Ensuring all vineyard practices are undertaken timeously with a high degree of accuracy.
• Working closely with our grower vineyards to make sure that essential vineyard practices are being executed properly and in good time (approx 300km range).
• Vineyard health monitoring across all vineyards.
• Working with our viticulturist to develop spray programs and manage execution of programs.
• Ensuring maintenance of farming infrastructure and equipment, including tractors, implements, water infrastructure, buildings etc.
• Helping to truck grapes from various vineyards to Hermanus in harvest time.
