Job Title: Machine Lead

About Us: At our manufacturing facility, we're committed to producing high-quality tissue products while maintaining the utmost safety standards. We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Machine Lead to join our team and drive excellence in tissue manufacturing.

About You: As the ideal candidate, you possess a strong background in operating high-speed manufacturing equipment, particularly in the tissue manufacturing sector. You have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding safety, quality, and housekeeping standards at all times. Your leadership skills allow you to effectively coach and coordinate a team to achieve production targets and minimize waste levels. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards, complying with all O.S.H. Act regulations and Mill Safety requirements. Monitor and maintain production schedules, rectifying delays and deviations immediately. Supervise cleaning of equipment and facilities to meet Kimberly-Clark -Housekeeping standards. Manage dosage rates of raw materials required for the shift. Input production-related data on Shopware on a shift basis. Provide coaching for team members on shift. Adhere to internal controls, company policies, and procedures. Maintain production efficiency targets by operating machines at maximum efficiencies and speeds. Minimize waste levels on the machine. Maintain the weekly production plan. Produce products meeting ISO specifications, recording all quality data. Ensure center lining is maintained and coordinate control charts and corrective measures. Conduct daily machine checks and coordinate with support teams for maximum efficiencies. Coordinate subordinates during shutdowns, projects, or trials. Coordinate isolation activities on asset. Implement Leader Standard Work related to 5S and performance. Monitor utility usages and participate in troubleshooting initiatives on shift.

Qualifications / Education / Experience / Skills Required:

N3/Matric/equivalent qualification S4 diploma in Pulp & Paper Technology would be an advantage 5 years’ experience on high-speed manufacturing equipment 2 years’ experience on tissue manufacturing equipment Proficiency in operating DCS systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Effective leadership and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of TPM & Lean Principles Technical knowledge in machine operations and DCS systems Commitment to safety and quality standards
