Your day at NTT DATA

The Data Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for the transformation of data into a structured format that can be easily analyzed in a query or report.

This role is responsible for developing structured data sets that can be reused or complimented by other data sets and reports.

This role analyzes the data sources and data structure and designs and develops data models to support the analytics requirements of the business which includes management / operational / predictive / data science capabilities.

What you'll be doing

The IT Data Specialist applies data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques based on a detailed understanding of business processes to establish, modify or maintain internal data structures and associated components (entity, relationship and attribute descriptions). They develop and maintain of a formal description of the internal data and data structures of the business and this can include data definitions, data models, data flow diagrams relating to the ITSM (Service Now) System Data.

An IT Data Specialist has cross domain level knowledge and attends to data needs of internal clients and may work across domains and/or functions. The critical skills required from an IT Data Specialist is the conversion and migration of medium-sized amounts of data from one database to another whether implementing an entirely new enterprise application or consolidating, upgrading, or modernizing an existing one, virtualizing or moving to another service or product, a strong focus on data migration is essential to overall project success.


The IT Data specialist will focus on the following core areas:

Data Quality ManagementData Governance (Maintain Data Standards)Data Onboarding/Client TransitionsData QueriesAutomation Enablement

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

Optimise Data Management processes through identifying Automation opportunitiesEnsure that all enhancements adhere to Data Governance FrameworkDrive service improvement initiatives to implementationWork closely with your business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision makingDrive implementation and adoption of Digital StrategyAttend to requests received from the business within the agreed timeframes

Education, Training and Experience :

High School CertificationITIL V3/4 Foundation CertificationA candidate for this position must have had at least 3 years of working experience working with businessAnalysis/informatics and business outcomes research within a fast-paced and complex business setting.Experience working in probability and statistics, time-series analysis as well as experience in the use of machine learning methods, for example, linear regression, correlation, statistical significance.A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role working on Service Now.Experience with using dashboards for Data Visualisation & Reporting
