Intermediate Full Stack Developer (Python and React)

What is expected from you?

As an Intermediate Full Stack Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications, utilizing your skills in Python and React to deliver effective and user-friendly solutions.
This position is based at a Webtonic client in Johannesburg or Cape Town and would require you to work at their premises for 4 days a week, with no remote work.

What other stuff do we need?

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Good experience with backend development in Python and common frameworks/tools (FastAPI, Flask, Django, SQLAlchemy, Celery, etc.)
  • Expertise in frontend development with React, Redux and related technologies
  • Good knowledge of MongoDB and other NoSQL databases
  • Experience with SQL databases and data warehousing (e.g. BigQuery)
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (especially Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub) or equivalent (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with headless CMS and Ecommerce platforms.
  • Has a solid understanding of software architecture and appropriate design patterns.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and mentor others

Requirements

What experience and skills are we looking for in you?
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related STEM field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years professional development experience
  • 2+ years’ experience with Python
  • 2+ years’ experience with React or similar frontend framework
