Hire Resolve is currently seeking a skilled Surveyor/Foreman to join our client's team in Wellington. As a Surveyor/Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing civil construction projects and conducting accurate surveys to ensure project accuracy and compliance. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising survey activities, as well as managing a team of workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor correct use of small plant and tools.
  • Ensure correct application of plant and implements.
  • Manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors
  • Monitor progress and quality of work on construction sites
  • Implement safety protocols and ensuring a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers
  • Utilise surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS systems
  • Providing accurate and detailed reports on project progress and data
  • Plan material requirements according to weekly plan.
  • Check and observe level and line during pipelaying.
  • Check all benchmarks, survey beacons and existing connection points for accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is essential
  • Proven experience as a surveyor and/or foreman in the civil construction industry
  • Ability to read and write in English and Afrikaans
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the civil construction industry
  • Proficient in surveying techniques and equipment
  • Preferably a Western Cape resident
  • Valid driver's license - Code B
