I am on the hunt for an Electrical Engineer who can: design, develop, and manage electrical systems and components , ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with various departments to support projects, troubleshooting, and maintenance across operations.

This Engineer will have the following 

  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Registration with ECSA and DoL as an Electrical Contractor
  • 5-8 years of experience in a similar environment
  • A proven track record in designing, developing, and managing electrical systems.
  • Experience in both project management and hands-on engineering roles.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Leadership and project management capabilities.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

What will this Engineer be responsible for?

  • Contribute technical expertise in project proposals and business development strategies
  • Support the business development team in preparing technical documentation and cost estimates for tenders and bids.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to provide technical insights during client meetings, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Identify emerging technologies and innovative solutions to improve service offerings 
  • Work closely with suppliers and contractors to negotiate favourable terms 
  • Assist in market research and analysis to identify potential new business opportunities in the electrical engineering domain.
  • Participate in networking events, industry conferences, and client engagement activities to enhance the organization's presence and influence in the industry.
  • Ensure that all electrical designs and installations comply with national and international standards.
  • Conduct routine safety checks, risk assessments, and audits 
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as local regulations.
  • Oversee and manage electrical projects from inception through to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Set clear performance benchmarks for engineering deliverables and conduct regular progress reviews with teams 
  • Monitor and maintain electrical systems for optimal performance, recommending upgrades or modifications when necessary.
  • Analyze technical problems and provide effective and timely solutions that minimize operational downtime.
  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for electrical engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by reviewing project outcomes, identifying lessons learned, and implementing best practices in future work.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control measures across electrical engineering projects.
  • Actively seek feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to evaluate performance, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor electrical technicians and contractors on site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and teamwork across project teams, ensuring a high standard of workmanship and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, procurement, and business development, to ensure project success from planning to execution.
