About the Role
Our client is seeking a vibrant and enthusiastic Grade R Teacher to join their foundation phase team in East London . This critical role involves laying the groundwork for children's educational journeys, fostering their early learning and development in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child development, a creative approach to teaching, and the ability to make learning fun and engaging for young learners. You will be instrumental in shaping a positive and supportive classroom experience that prepares children for formal schooling within the East London community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for Grade R learners.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and play-based learning.
- Assess children's progress through observation and documentation, providing feedback to parents.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering positive social interactions among children.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each child's overall development.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development or Foundation Phase teaching.
- Experience teaching Grade R or equivalent.
- Knowledge of play-based learning methodologies and early literacy/numeracy development.
- Strong communication, patience, and nurturing skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
