About the Role
Our client is looking for a visionary Principal Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote team, based out of Centurion . This senior-level position is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure to support a rapidly scaling platform. You will be at the forefront of cloud strategy, leveraging your deep expertise to ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and cost-effective. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Establish and enforce best practices for cloud security, monitoring, and cost management.
- Automate deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, and operational tasks to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud environments and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers within the cloud and DevOps domains.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years focused on cloud engineering and architecture.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its core services.
- Extensive experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and distributed systems in a cloud context.
