Traffic and Transportation Engineer - Urban Mobility
Our client is seeking a dynamic Traffic and Transportation Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch. This role is essential for designing and implementing effective traffic management systems, road networks, and public transportation solutions aimed at improving urban mobility and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct traffic studies, analyze traffic data, and develop traffic impact assessments for new developments.
- Design traffic control measures, including signal timing, signage, road markings, and intersection improvements.
- Develop transportation plans and policies to enhance road safety, public transit, and non-motorized transport.
- Prepare geometric design of roads, interchanges, and related transportation infrastructure using CAD software.
- Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and municipal authorities to integrate transportation solutions into urban development projects.
- Oversee the implementation of traffic and transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in transportation or traffic engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering.
- Proficiency in traffic simulation software (e.g., VISSIM, SIDRA) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, highway design standards, and safety best practices.
- Experience with public transport planning and non-motorized transport infrastructure design.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
