About the Role
Our client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a seasoned Logistics Driver with a Code 14 license to manage the transportation of goods. This position is vital for the company's supply chain operations, requiring a driver who is adept at handling large vehicles and navigating diverse routes efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of a delivery, from pre-trip inspections to final delivery confirmation. The ideal candidate is professional, punctual, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of road safety and cargo integrity. This role offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity within a key industrial hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Code 14 truck to transport goods between depots, suppliers, and customer locations.
- Conduct thorough daily inspections of the vehicle, ensuring all safety features are operational.
- Adhere strictly to South African road safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel consumption, and any vehicle-related issues.
- Coordinate with dispatchers to manage schedules and address any transport-related challenges promptly.
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 driver's license with a current PrDP.
- Minimum of 4 years of verifiable experience driving heavy-duty trucks (Code 14).
- Proven ability to operate vehicles safely in various weather and road conditions typical of the Richards Bay region.
- Good geographical knowledge of KwaZulu-Natal and surrounding areas.
- Excellent physical condition and the ability to handle strenuous tasks like loading/unloading.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
