About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Field Officer to drive their community development programs in the Mahikeng region. In this hands-on role, you will be the crucial link between our client's initiatives and the communities they serve, engaging directly with residents to understand their needs and facilitate program implementation. Your work will involve outreach, data collection, and support for various community-based projects aimed at improving livelihoods and well-being. The ideal candidate is resourceful, enjoys working in diverse environments, and is deeply committed to the principles of community empowerment and the charity sector .
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field assessments to identify community needs and project opportunities.
- Facilitate community meetings and engage stakeholders in program activities.
- Implement and monitor project activities according to established plans.
- Collect accurate data on project progress, impact, and beneficiary feedback.
- Liaise with local leaders and community members to ensure project relevance and acceptance.
- Provide basic support and guidance to community members participating in programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Matric certificate; a tertiary qualification in Social Sciences or related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience working in community development, field work, or a related role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently in rural or semi-urban settings and manage own schedule.
- Familiarity with the Mahikeng area and its communities is beneficial.
- A strong sense of commitment to social causes and the charity sector .
