Prestige Tech is a South African InsurTech company. We build the insurance data management platform that funeral businesses use to administer policies, collect premiums, process claims and communicate with their members. The platform connects each funeral business directly to the insurers who underwrite its policies, so every party works from one accurate record of each policy and every payment. The role
We are looking for an intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer who can take ownership of features from database to screen. You will join our engineering team and work directly with the founder on the modules our clients and underwriting partners depend on most. The role is remote, based in South Africa, and open as a permanent or contract position.
What you will work on
- Building and maintaining our policy, claims, payments and underwriting modules
- Integrating with underwriters through secure file exchange (SFTP) and APIs
- Payment integrations, including point of sale devices and mobile payments
- Identity and policy validation through third party verification services
- Customer notifications by WhatsApp and SMS
- Data quality: validating, cleaning and migrating large volumes of policy data
- Supporting our mobile app and its connection to the platform
What you bring
- At least three years of professional full stack development experience
- Strong C#, .NET, SQL and REST API skills, front end experience in React or Vue, React Native for our mobile app, and working knowledge of Python
- Relational database design, with a sharp eye for data integrity
- Experience integrating third party systems
- Git, code review, testing and a disciplined approach to releases
- The ability to work independently from home, communicate clearly and deliver to deadlines
- Availability to start immediately
Advantageous
- Experience in insurance, financial services or payments
- Publishing mobile apps to Google Play and the Apple App Store
- Working knowledge of POPIA and handling personal information securely
