About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Grid Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis, contributing to the stability and modernization of power grids. This role requires expertise in grid planning, analysis, and the integration of renewable energy sources. You will work with a distributed team of engineers and project managers to design and implement solutions that enhance grid reliability, capacity, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex power flow, short circuit, and stability analyses for high-voltage transmission and distribution systems.
- Develop grid expansion plans and upgrade strategies to accommodate new generation sources and increasing load demands.
- Design and specify grid-connected systems, including substations, transmission lines, and protection schemes.
- Collaborate with renewable energy developers to ensure seamless integration of solar, wind, and battery storage systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve grid operational issues, contributing to system resilience and reliability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide expert technical guidance on grid engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electrical grid engineering and power system analysis.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or PSCAD.
- In-depth knowledge of grid codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with renewable energy integration and smart grid technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
