About the Role
Our client, a dynamic construction company operating in the North West province, is seeking a diligent Civil Site Engineer for projects based in and around Klerksdorp . This hands-on role involves supervising civil engineering works on construction sites, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating with contractors, and resolving technical challenges that arise during construction. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to gain extensive practical experience in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all civil engineering aspects of construction projects on site.
- Ensure that construction work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and quality, identifying and addressing any deviations or defects.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on site.
- Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Conduct site inspections, measurements, and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Liaise with the project manager, design team, and clients to resolve site-specific issues.
- Manage site logistics, including material delivery, equipment usage, and waste disposal.
- Perform quality control checks on materials and workmanship.
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Tech. Eng. or Pr. Eng.) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil construction supervision and site engineering.
- Proven experience in supervising earthworks, concrete structures, road construction, or similar civil works.
- Familiarity with construction methodologies, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation (e.g., OHSA Act) and its application on construction sites.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be able to work effectively in a demanding site environment in Klerksdorp .
- Valid driver's license is required.
