Sound knowledge of high pressure-vessel materials and fabrication processes. (Heat exchangers, air coolers, etc)
Minimum Requirements
· Qualified Boilermaker with a valid Trade Test Certificate.
· Minimum N4 qualification, with a strong pass in Mathematics.
· At least five (5) years' experience in a supervisory position.
· Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in pressure-vessel fabrication.
· Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
· Strong leadership, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
· Willingness to undergo and successfully complete a formal technical assessment before being considered for an interview.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and control all plate-yard activities in accordance with production requirements.
· Ensure the correct identification, handling, storage and issuing of plate materials.
· Maintain full material traceability in accordance with engineering and quality requirements.
· Ensure compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
· Coordinate activities with Production, Quality Control, Engineering and Stores.
· Ensure adherence to approved engineering drawings, specifications and procedures.
· Allocate work, monitor performance and ensure production targets are achieved.
· Promote discipline, teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement within the department. Required Competencies
· Sound knowledge of pressure-vessel materials and fabrication processes.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and material specifications.
· Strong leadership and people-management ability.
· Good planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· A high level of discipline, accountability and attention to detail.
· Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.
