About the Role
I’m partnering with a leading international organisation that is investing heavily in its data, reporting and planning capabilities, and we’re looking to connect with an experienced Senior Planning Analytics (TM1) Developer . This is a hands-on role focused on the development and optimisation of IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 solutions, supporting business planning, reporting, forecasting and management information. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, analysts and technical teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, reliable planning and reporting solutions. What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop and maintain IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) models and solutions
- Build and optimise multidimensional cubes, dimensions, rules, feeders and calculations
- Develop and maintain ETL processes and data integrations
- Build and enhance reporting and planning solutions using Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX)
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
- Work with stakeholders to understand reporting, budgeting, forecasting and planning requirements
- Integrate new data sources into existing TM1 environments and processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex TM1, data and reporting issues
- Provide technical guidance and support to users and less experienced developers
- Contribute to system performance, reliability and optimisation
- Support user access, security and permission management
- Produce technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing across the team
- Take ownership of development projects from requirements through to implementation and post-release support
- Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, reporting and technical solutions
- Work collaboratively with wider Data, BI, Finance and Technology teams What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years' experience working with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 or a similar enterprise planning and BI platform
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1
- Strong understanding of multidimensional modelling and cube technology
- Experience developing TM1 rules, feeders, dimensions and cubes
- Strong experience with ETL and data integration processes
- Experience with Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW) and Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX)
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced reporting and data manipulation
- Experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical and data issues
- Good understanding of data quality, reporting and business intelligence principles
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers would be advantageous Desirable Technical Skills Experience with one or more of the following would be beneficial:
- SQL
- Python
- VBA
- Other BI / reporting platforms
- Financial planning and forecasting systems
- ERP systems and financial data
- Data warehousing and enterprise data environments Key Areas of Responsibility TM1 Development Own the development and enhancement of TM1 models, cubes, rules, dimensions and reporting solutions. Data & Integration Develop and maintain processes that bring data from different sources into the Planning Analytics environment, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Business Partnership Work closely with Finance, BI, Technology and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions. Optimisation Identify opportunities to improve model performance, reporting processes, automation and overall user experience. Technical Ownership Take responsibility for complex development work, troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance across the wider team. What We're Looking For in You
