##### BASED DURBAN Responsible for the accurate planning, preparation and dispatch of packaging and labelling stock (per requirements), including management of returnable and/or rejects, administering, and updating records, liaising with stakeholders, and monitoring stock levels, to ensure availability to fulfil production requirements. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Technical Duties:
- Walk-through production with respective Supervisors to understand the daily requirements, what packaging (product-specific, volume, quantity, etc.) will be needed.
- Working from the Pack Sheets, pull the required packaging and labels, ensuring accuracy against the requirements.
- Maintaining close communication with Production to plan (adjust) packaging and labelling requirements for next few days, ensuring timeous delivery and availability.
- Timeous ordering of labels, via the Buyer.
- Receive requests from production for packaging / empty containers and pull the stock, preparing pallet per request.
- Instruct labellers with quantity to be completed, issuing accurate labels.
- Conduct quality control check, verifying that packaging is labelled correctly before preparing pallet for collection.
- Issue packaging per Pack Sheet requirements, updating documentation.
- Receive any reports regarding non-conforming packaging/labelling and report to the Buyer.
- At the conclusion of each run, reconcile the Batch Sheet, identifying any returns or rejects, collecting if required.
- Store any returns, to allow for use in the next run.
- Receive, reconcile, and return any returnable packaging (daily).
- View and verify online rejects, updating documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor bulk stock levels in the stores, ensuring minimum quantity on hand (visual).
- Assists to place packaging orders with Buyers, as required.
- Assists with receiving, as required.
- Conduct ad hoc stock counts, as requested.
- Pick required packaging / labelling using First In, First Out principles to manage stock effectively.
- Continuous monitoring of the area for safety and ensuring housekeeping to minimise safety hazards.
- Key member of the Stock Take team, conduct detailed stock take quarterly, or as required.
- Assists with labelling, as required. Administration:
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating policies and procedures (including quality controls). Health & Safety Management:
- Ensure full compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policy & procedures.
- Wear required PPE in designated areas.
- Operate all machinery in full accordance with instructions and safety precautions.
- Immediately report any non-compliance via the Health & Safety Officers. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or equivalent is essential. (Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science will be advantageous).
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in Stores / Receiving or in a Manufacturing / Warehousing environment.
- Understanding of packaging & labelling.
- Understanding of production (advantageous).
- FLT License (an advantage).
- Ability to work extended hours during stock take and month-end. SKILLS
