JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: BI Analyst and BI Developer Department: Data and Business Intelligence Reporting To: Head of Data and BI PURPOSE: Develop and maintain trusted reports, dashboards and semantic models that help business users make informed decisions. Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, usable, appropriately secured and supportable. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Data Requests. Clarify reporting requests and KPI definitions with the BA and business owner. Deliver validated reports and dashboard changes within agreed service commitments. 2. Data Work. Build and maintain measures, models and visuals. Reconcile figures, test filter behaviour and access, and complete peer review before production release. 3. Data Projects. Deliver BI milestones within the maturity roadmap. Design reusable models and reports, coordinate UAT, and hand over refresh, access and support responsibilities. 4. Data Incidents. Investigate report, measure and semantic model incidents. Coordinate restoration with Engineering and DataOps and validate critical figures before closure. 5. Knowledge Base Contribution. Maintain metric definitions, report guides, model documentation and troubleshooting articles. Publish reviewed updates when material changes are released. 6. Independent Projects. Propose and pilot reporting or self-service initiatives outside the maturity roadmap. Define intended users, adoption measures and evaluation criteria before launch. 7. Governance and controls. Apply approved data quality, access and change standards. Maintain version control, lineage information and documented calculation assumptions. 8. Collaboration and outcomes. Work with business users, analysts, engineers and service owners to improve usability and performance. Provide user guidance and escalate delivery risks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Relevant degree or diploma in information systems, computer science, data analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience. 2. Microsoft Power BI or related BI certification is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:
1. Proposed minimum: 3 years developing BI reports, dashboards or analytical models. 2. Practical experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL and dimensional modelling. 3. Experience with reconciliation, business validation, deployment and production reporting support. KEY COMPETENCIES: Technical Competencies 1. Power BI visual design, semantic modelling, DAX and Power Query. 2. SQL, dimensional models and data reconciliation. 3. Report performance, refresh configuration and role-based access. 4. Requirements interpretation, UAT, version control and user documentation. *Behavioural Competencies
