Role Description The Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist will work on the full architectural lifecycle, including concept development, design detailing, documentation, and coordination with consultants and contractors. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing drawings and technical documentation, participating in design reviews, assisting with project planning, and ensuring compliance with local building regulations and standards. The role involves regular collaboration with clients, design team members, and external partners to translate project narratives into practical and buildable solutions. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Cape Town, requiring consistent presence in the studio and on project sites as needed. Qualifications
• Professional qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology, with relevant registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body.
• Experience in concept design, spatial planning, and development of narrative-driven architectural solutions.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar), and strong technical drawing skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and construction methods applicable in South Africa, especially within the Cape Town context.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience in overseeing projects through various stages, from early design to construction administration, is highly beneficial.
• Attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and an interest in context-sensitive, narrative-led design across diverse African environments.
