Job Overview:
Operate an underground utility vehicle (UV) to transport people, materials and equipment safely.
- Grade 10 or higher, with the relevant vehicle operator ticket or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience driving underground utility vehicles.
- Knowledge of underground traffic management.
- Valid Certificate of Fitness and a valid driver’s licence.
- Advantageous: Experience in platinum mining; experience transporting explosives where authorised; basic maintenance knowledge.
- Pre-use inspect the vehicle and report defects.
- Transport people, explosives (where authorised), consumables and equipment to the working places.
- Follow traffic rules and load limits at all times.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working order.
- Complete vehicle logs and report incidents.
