Introduction

PEC Utility Management is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Municipal Officer to join our Pretoria team.

The successful candidate will support the bulk account audits of the business through financial accounting, reconciliations, verifying bulk accounts, tariff analysis on various Supply Authority-, Municipal- and Eskom accounts, supply feedback to PEC Operations teams and ad hoc communication with Supply Authorities.

PEC Utility Management Head Office is located at Silvertondale, Pretoria with additional branches in Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban to be of service to our clients Nationwide.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following broad job functions:

  • Request Supply Authority-, Municipal, and Eskom accounts on time.
  • Verify and confirm the accuracy of these accounts by referring to approved supply authority tariffs and PEC Utility Management readings.
  • Perform day-to-day finance transactions, being auditing, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve issues as needed.
  • Sending accounts and supporting documents to customers and/or PEC operation teams.
  • The above-mentioned requirements should all be performed within very strict deadlines and therefor be able to work under pressure.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties required by the Company

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications required:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and basic knowledge of bookkeeping

Experience required:

  • 2-5 years’ experience auditing various Supply Authority-, Municipal- and Eskom tariffs
  • Excellent knowledge of various Supply Authority-, Municipal- and Eskom tariffs
  • Excellent knowledge of the utilities industry
  • Fully Bilingual (Afr. & Eng.)
  • Must be computer literate with strong MS Excel skills
  • Attention to detail. Must be able to pick up mistakes and correct them
  • Good verbal and writing skills
  • Timekeeping and planning
  • Deadline and goal orientated
  • Reliable and honest
  • Must be able to work in a Team environment
  • Work well under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Fully computer literate in MS Excel & MS Word
