Purpose of position:• To lead the strategy and execution of the Quality Control Department.• Ensure the Quality Control Department is efficient and effective.• Ensure the Quality Control Department is capacitated and able to serve the business’ needs. Roles and responsibilities:• Take responsibility for customer, supplier or manufacturing complaint investigation and reporting.• Take responsibility for the complete management of reassessments.• Ensure shelf life of all materials are updated.• Provide updates and reports on all QC activities to the Operations Director.• Ensure incoming packaging materials are tested.• Assist with training on systems / standards and ensure they are communicated and upheld by all staff and functional environments.• Ensure accurate and efficient physical and sensory analysis of all incoming raw materials, intermediates and finished products.• Ensure labels are accurately printed and secured to all materials.• Verify Allergens in finished products.• Ensure that all relevant COA documentation is completed and stored (raw material, intermediates and finished goods).• Ensure instruments and scales are calibrated for the Quality Control Department and Production.• Conduct QC evaluation as needed. Requirements & Skills:• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.• Qualified in Quality Management Systems, Food Safety, Management systems and Health & Safety Management.• Excellent analytical skills.• Computer skills.• Report writing skills.• Technical and application knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSSC 22000 and SEDEX requirements.• Knowledge of industry relevant regulations.• At least 15 year’s Quality Control experience in the flavour and fragrance industry.• At least 5 year’s experience in managing a Quality Control team.
