Millwright / Automation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Specialist to join our Packhouse facility. This role is ideal for a qualified Millwright or equivalent tradesperson with strong mechanical and electrical competencies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and optimizing automation equipment, ensuring smooth production flow and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical & Electrical Troubleshooting, on packhouse equipment
  • Maintenance & repairs on equipment and machinery i.e. Conveyor systems
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance
  • Meet output and quality targets
  • Monitor production data using ERP systems
  • Optimise efficiency, safety, and product quality
  • Ensure compliance to safety protocols and SOP's

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Millwright or equivalent technical certification
  • 3–5 years' experience in a Packhouse and or Refrigeration environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Hands-on experience with auxiliary equipment setup and optimization
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Oracle)
  • Lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
