My client, a leading company based in Durban North requires a competent and experienced Software Project Manager to join their team.

The Software Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing IT software implementation and enhancement projects. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality and business requirements. The role requires proactive stakeholder engagement, resource coordination, risk management, and disciplined project governance.

This position is reportig to the MD.

Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management / IT

Project Management certification (Prince2, PMP, Agile, Scrum Master) beneficial

Knowledge of IT infrastructure and software development processes

3–5 years proven track record managing IT software delivery projects

Experience managing cross‑functional project teams

Vendor and stakeholder management experience

Strong leadership and motivational skills

High accountability and ownership mindset

Excellent facilitation and conflict‑resolution skills

Proactive and solutions‑oriented approach

Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

SA Citizens only

Must be Criminal Clear

Must reside in the Greater Durban area or be willing to relocate at your own cost

DUTIES (not limited to)

Deliver IT software projects on time, within scope and budget

Drive full adherence to Project Governance frameworks and processes

Maintain strong stakeholder communication and expectation alignment

Ensure accurate status reporting and progress tracking

Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices

Monitoring and reporting on resource utilisation where required

Manage end‑to‑end delivery of software projects within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality parameters

Ensure effective collaboration between Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, and other internal and external stakeholders

Drive requirements gathering, documentation, and change control processes

Facilitate project meetings and progress reporting

Ensure clear and timeous communication to stakeholders at all levels

Maintain updated project governance documentation and artefacts

Ensure risks, issues, and dependencies are logged, tracked, and resolved

Manage vendor relationships and performance where applicable
