OMPETHA POWER PROJECTS is a leading electrical construction company specializing in medium, low, and high voltage infrastructure, ranging from 11kV up to 765kV. The company holds a CIDB Grade 8EP certification. OMPETHA POWER PROJECTS is approved by major entities including Eskom. Our expertise includes transmission lines, underground reticulation, overhead and hybrid infrastructure, MV bulk lines, fibre installation, minisubs, streetlights, transformers, excavations, joints, terminations, switching stations, and substations.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Transmission Lines Project Manager located in the Pretoria Metropolitan Area. The Transmission Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of transmission projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating teams, supervising installations of electrical infrastructure, and liaising with stakeholders for project updates and requirements.

Applicants must be aware that they will be travelling to sites all across the country.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in 132kV up to 765kV high-voltage and medium-voltage systems, including installation of transmission lines, substations, and switching stations.
  • Project management expertise, including planning, coordinating resources, risk management, and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in communication and stakeholder management to liaise with clients, contractors, and other team members.
  • Relevant qualifications in Project Management or a related field; additional Electrical Engineering qualifications are an advantage.
  • Experience working with Eskom tranmission and distribution networks and knowledge of components.
