We're looking for a
Digital-First Junior Designer

who's passionate about designing high-performing digital assets - from websites and ad campaigns to email templates and landing pages. You'll collaborate with EVG's design, marketing, and development teams to bring brands to life through visually compelling, conversion-driven design systems.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who loves digital design and wants to build a career creating assets that live online - not just look good, but perform well. You'll help concept and produce on-brand visuals for web interfaces, social ads, email campaigns, and marketing funnels across EVG's portfolio of brands.

You'll receive structured onboarding, hands-on mentorship, and opportunities to learn advanced workflows in web design systems, performance marketing, and responsive creative production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design
    digital-first assets

including website layouts, ad units, banners, and email campaigns.
- Build and iterate on
responsive web and landing page mockups

in Figma.
- Create
HTML-friendly email layouts

optimized for different platforms and devices.
- Work with creative briefs to deliver assets that align with brand strategy and performance goals.
- Collaborate with copywriters, marketers, and developers to ensure seamless execution.
- Prepare and organize files for
handoff to dev team

(including exporting and slicing assets).
- Maintain
design systems

and ensure brand consistency across digital touchpoints.
- Contribute fresh ideas to campaign concepts and UI/UX improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in
    Figma

and
Adobe Creative Suite

(especially Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of
digital layout, typography, and hierarchy

.
- Working knowledge of
responsive web design

and
email best practices

.
- Ability to create assets optimized for
ads, social media, and web

.
- Attention to detail, balance, and color across multiple device formats.
- Degree or diploma in
Graphic Design, Web Design, or Visual Communication

.
- Portfolio showcasing
digital-first work

(web layouts, ad units, emails, etc.).

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with
    HTML/CSS

or email builders (HubSpot, Stripo).
- Experience designing
performance ads

or A/B test variants.
- Exposure to
motion tools

(After Effects, CapCut, Premier Pro, or Canva Video).
- Basic understanding of
UI/UX principles

- Familiarity with workflow tools like
Asana, Notion, or Slack

.

Compensation

  • R 10,000 – R 14,000 per month
  • Includes hybrid work flexibility, mentorship, and real exposure to international brand portfolios.

Growth Path

  • 0–1 year:

Digital-First Junior Designer
- 1–3 years:

Digital Designer / Web & Email Specialist (R 15,000 – R 20,000)
- 3–5 years:

Senior Digital Designer or Creative Strategist (R 25,000 – R 35,000)
