Technical Assistant

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a roads and storm water

maintenance, construction environment or related field

  • Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able and willing to work outside normal working hours, in all

weather conditions

  • A valid driver's license – advantageous

Key Performance Areas

  • To provide technical support to technical and professional

staff engaged in Infrastructure Management and / or

Development Facilitation.

  • Scrutiny of wayleaves, engineering design plans and specifications

for developments and Roads & Stormwater infrastructure to

ensure proposals comply with legislation, policy, standards

and specifications.

  • Conducts technical site inspections relating to the provision of

services and the maintenance of infrastructure.

  • Assist the technical and professional staff in project management

on smaller or less complex projects.

  • Recording and reporting on on-site inspection outcomes.
  • Office administration and general departmental support.
