Supporting Agriculture Specialists and Soil Scientists by collecting various Agri-samples (soil, leaves, water, etc.) according to standardised SOP's and sending the samples and related paperwork to the relevant lab for analysis. This position is based in the Johannesburg/ Pretoria, Gauteng area.Main ResponsibilitiesOperate the Geoprobe machine to collect soil profile samples from various farms per relevant SOP.Collect soil, water, leave, petiole, etc. samples from various farms as per relevant SOP.Capture location data on Trimble or MYFARMWEB CAPTURE.Complete the relevant online job card for every sample collected by accurately capturing data on the relevant form.Ensure samples are sent to the correct laboratories.Complete weekly machine checklists.Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.Skills and CapabilitiesComputer literateFull professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)Able to lift and carry > 12 pounds/6kg comfortablyExcellent attention to detailComfortable with routine work but flexible enough to adjust to ad hoc situationsAble to work under pressureExcellent communication skillsEffective organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasksAble to work in a team environment as well as on your ownMinimum RequirementsQualificationsNational Senior CertificateAgriculture Qualification will be advantageousExperienceExperience with agriculture will be advantageousOther specific requirementsMust own or be able to acquire a suitable pickup truck (bakkie)Must be available to work every second Saturday, as requiredMust be willing to travel extensively, both locally and internationallyMust be prepared to work long hours when necessaryPreference will be given to candidates residing in the Johannesburg/ Pretoria area as no relocation assistance will be provided.
