Fire Technician

We are seeking a skilled and certified SAQCC Qualified Fire Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and inspection of fire protection equipment in compliance with SAQCC Fire and SANS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, recharge, and maintain portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, and fire hydrants according to relevant regulations and safety standards.
• Install new fire protection equipment in accordance with site requirements and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing to ensure all fire equipment is fully operational and compliant.
• Complete accurate service reports, inspection forms, and compliance documentation.
• Identify faults, perform necessary repairs, and replace damaged or expired components.
• Advise clients on proper fire safety procedures, equipment placement, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in line with company, industry, and SAQCC standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• SAQCC Fire Registration as a competent person for portable fire extinguishers, hose reels, and hydrants.
• Proven experience in fire equipment servicing and installation.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of relevant SANS standards (SANS 1475, SANS 10105, etc.).
• Experience working in commercial, industrial, or residential environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
