Our client, is a superior (SMEIPP) structural, mechanical, electrical & instrumentation, piping & platework construction contractor, offering services to the mining, industrial, power and oil & gas sectors throughout Africa. They specialize in the supply, fabrication, logistics, erection and installation of complete mineral beneficiation plants and mining related infrastructure.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and organized
Site Agent
to oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate teams, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with construction plans and safety standards. The Site Agent acts as a key link between workers, subcontractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure work is completed on schedule, within scope, and to the required quality. The ideal candidate has strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and extensive knowledge of construction operations and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Coordination & Supervision
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure work activities align with project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate subcontractors, tradespeople, laborers, and site staff.
- Monitor productivity, work quality, and adherence to specifications.
Project Management Support
- Assist in planning daily and weekly construction activities.
- Communicate project updates, delays, and issues to the Project Manager.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available as needed.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers follow OSHA regulations and site policies.
- Conduct or support safety inspections, toolbox talks, and incident reporting.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and design specifications.
- Report non-conformance and support corrective measures.
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, and site documentation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily logs, site reports, material deliveries, and workforce records.
- Report progress, delays, and resource requirements to management.
- Track and document completed tasks and milestones.
Communication & Liaison Duties
- Serve as an on-site representative for the company with clients, engineers, and inspectors.
- Facilitate communication between subcontractors, workers, and management teams.
- Assist with resolving technical or operational issues promptly.
Resource Management
- Support inventory control of materials, equipment, and tools.
- Coordinate material ordering and ensure proper storage and usage.
- Minimize waste and support cost-control measures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and site logistics.
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma; associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in construction supervision or site operations.
- Valid driver's license required.

Remuneration
- Candidate will receive a monthly income in USD tax free.
Working Roster
- 8 Weeks on site and 2 Weeks home.
