Job Description
Dear Future, Financial Accountant D

To provide support to the financial manager by applying accounting principles in monitoring and analysing financial data, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, providing accurate accounting information to the financial manager to support business decisions and execute deliverables within agreed processes, procedures and timelines.

Are You Someone Who Can Do The Following

  • Execute monthly financial accounting functions, including gathering, analysing, and interpreting financial information.
  • Process month-end journals and update month-end files.
  • Perform variance analysis and interpret financial data.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, including account reconciliation reports, in line with the bank's policies.
  • Review daily mirror nostro reconciliation transactions and clear items allocated to Finance.
  • Prepare and reconcile the monthly suspense account dashboard and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly ICP recoveries.
  • Assist the Financial Manager with BD5, flash reports, monthly financial reports, investigations, and commentary.
  • Prepare quarterly tax packs for the Channel Islands Branch.
  • Maintain financial analysis and reporting activities as required by the business unit.
  • Provide line managers with financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Identify and resolve month-end issues, accounting discrepancies, and other finance-related concerns.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports.
  • Participate in projects as required.
  • Conduct annual reviews and updates of finance process spreadsheets and risk-related documentation.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in planned development activities relevant to personal growth.
  • Identify risks and propose solutions to management.
  • Contribute to a culture of service excellence by fostering positive relationships and encouraging feedback.
  • Continuously assess personal performance by seeking timely feedback and requesting training when needed.
  • Promote teamwork among peers and team members.

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You Have

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience working in a Finance Team/similar role
  • Basic experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
  • Intermediate analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Essbase, Greenmodel) and Microsoft Excel (M365 Suite).
