Gardening Supervisor

The Gardening Supervisor will oversee daily landscaping and gardening operations, ensuring that grounds are maintained to the highest standards. This role requires hands-on experience with gardening machinery, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a small team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Matric (Grade 12).

• License: Valid driver's license.

Experience:

• Proven experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.

• Hands-on experience with gardening machinery and tools.

Skills:

• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.

• Knowledge of plant care, soil management, and seasonal gardening practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on gardening equipment.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate gardening staff in maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs.
• Operate and oversee the safe use of gardening machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws).
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance tasks such as watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest control.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all gardening activities.
• Manage inventory of gardening tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Report on progress, challenges, and resource needs to management.
• Drive company vehicle when required for transporting staff, tools, or materials.
