Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site role located in Somerset West. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical systems and components, preparing detailed technical drawings, performing engineering calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility. Additional responsibilities include developing prototypes, supporting manufacturing processes, and conducting testing to optimize performance and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software, 3D modeling, and technical drawing
- Strong analytical skills with experience in engineering calculations and simulations
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information effectively
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in project management, including planning and deadline adherence
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Prior experience in a similar mechanical design engineering role is a plus
