The EB Consultant will be required to manage a portfolio of provident fund clients under the Umbrella and Stand-Alone Provident Funds, to retain and grow the portfolios, as well as develop structures of control within the Funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional employee benefit consulting advice to Boards of Trustees, Management Committees and Employer, where applicable.
  • Attend Board meetings, Subcommittee meetings, Management Committee meetings and Employer meetings.
  • Co-ordinate communication between all internal and external parties involved in the management of the funds, act as the interface between clients, members and other stakeholders in the retirement fund while ensuring that all instructions are followed through.
  • Report on the status of the fund and explain the implications of certain decisions to Trustees, Management Committee Members and Employers.
  • Liaison and communication with internal departments on issues pertaining to the management of funds.
  • Follow up on queries, resolve problems and queries of clients and members timeously.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and maintain on-going close relationships with all stakeholders - employers, member and employer Trustees.
  • Ensure that agenda packs are prepared and distributed timeously.
  • Ensure that all action items are completed prior to next client meeting.
  • Ensure that all travel arrangements are adequately coordinated.
  • Able to obtain certification as required by regulations within a given time frame
  • Seek new business development and account growth opportunities
  • Willing to travel outside the city limits from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the Employee Benefits industry, with 3 years specifically in Umbrella and Stand-Alone Provident Fund Consulting with clients.
  • RE5 certified
  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong consulting skills
