Photography Lecturer

Responsibilities

The Photography Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in photography and related fields, ensuring that students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The role includes assessing, recording, and analysing student performance and achievement, while promoting active, student-centred learning. The lecturer will contribute to curriculum development and review to maintain programme relevance and quality, and provide ongoing academic supervision and support to students. In addition, the position requires accurate administrative record-keeping and active participation in the institution's quality assurance and continuous improvement processes. The successful candidate may also be required to facilitate short courses after hours as part of the Academy's extended learning initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Photography (minimum NQF Level 6)
• At least two years of relevant industry experience
• Assessor and/or Moderator registration advantageous
• Bilingual: Afrikaans and English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro
• Videography/Cinematography experience will be an advantage
• Strong conceptual and creative skills
• Proficient in studio lighting and photographic techniques
