Role Description

We are looking for experienced Senior Debt Collections Administrators to join our growing team. This is a full-time, on-site role located in the City of Cape Town. The ideal candidates will be responsible for engaging directly with customers to resolve overdue accounts in a manner that is respectful, empathetic, solution-oriented, and aligned with our values of integrity, innovation, and inclusion. Your mission is to achieve sustainable recoveries while preserving customer relationships, enhancing long-term loyalty, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will also handle customer complaints and provide appropriate solutions in a timely manner

Things you need to be great at

  • Managing past due accounts effectively by ensuring timely collections on early and late stage accounts in line with company policy and industry best practice.
  • Identifying the causes of non-payment and offering suitable tailored solutions such as payment plans, or escalations to relevant internal teams.
  • Applying appropriate negotiation techniques to secure repayment.
  • Follow up on commitments to pay to ensure the agreed repayments are made.
  • Handling incoming customer queries via phone, email, and chat in a professional and timely manner.
  • Providing accurate information about products, services, and account details.
  • Escalating complex cases to the relevant departments when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions using internal systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of collections processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric Certificate (Grade 12) – essential.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in collections or debt recovery (preferably within financial services or fintech).
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written); proficiency in additional South African languages is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy with the ability to work across multiple systems.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in financial services or a fin-Tech environment is a plus.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays, if required.
