Villaron Group South Africa is a leading provider of residential and commercial construction services across Australia. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects, we are committed to innovation, efficiency, and excellence in all aspects of construction. As we continue to grow and expand, we are building a dedicated team in Cape Town to support our projects and contribute to our continued success. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, growth-focused environment where our people are valued and empowered to excel.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Cape Town. This integrated role combines both estimating and quantity surveying responsibilities. You will support tender preparation, digital take-offs, cost estimation, and subcontractor pricing, while developing expertise in BEAMS software. A strong knowledge of building products, structural steel, and reinforcing is essential for success in this role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to build on your foundation in construction and grow your skills in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up tender/job files and manage drawings, specifications, and addenda.
- Perform digital take-offs for building products, structural steel, and reinforcing using Bluebeam and other tools.
- Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and trade/material breakdowns.
- Support subcontractor and supplier pricing, issue RFQs, and compare quotations.
- Update quantities and documentation throughout the tender process.
- Learn and progressively use BEAMS for estimating, take-offs, reporting, and budgeting.
- Assist in preparing client-ready tender submissions.
- Collaborate with senior estimators, QS staff, and project managers on pre-construction tasks.
Requirements
- 3–5 years' experience in estimating or quantity surveying (residential/commercial).
- A minimum of 10 years in the construction industry is highly preferred, as we value strong building-product knowledge and experience.
- Strong knowledge of building products, materials, structural steel, and reinforcing.
- Familiarity with BEAMS or any other QS software is preferred, but a willingness to become proficient in BEAMS is essential.
- Experience with digital measurement tools (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles: measurements, rate build-ups, BoQs, cost planning.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and general IT systems.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Comprehensive training in BEAMS and Australian construction workflows.
- Career growth and development opportunities into advanced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor roles.
- Supportive, growth-oriented international work environment.
How to Apply
Please submit your CV and cover letter. We look forward to hearing from you.
