About the Company

Our client is a well-established, family-owned group of schools in Midrand, Gauteng, comprising an Independent Cambridge-accredited Primary School, two Preschools, and a Swim School.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Headmaster to lead and manage the daily operations across all campuses. School size - just under 500 pupils. 150 in the two pre-schools, 349 in the primary school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and uphold the school's ethos, values, and standards
  • Oversee the academic, administrative, and operational functions of the Primary School, Preschools, and Swim School
  • Drive strategic planning, school improvement, and staff development initiatives
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • Manage admissions, marketing, and community relations to maintain strong stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee financial planning and resource allocation in collaboration with the school board
  • Lead, motivate, and support staff to achieve excellence across all levels

Qualifications

  • A recognized teaching qualification and SACE registration
  • At least 5 years of proven school management experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum (advantageous)
  • Excellent understanding of educational best practices, child development, and school governance
  • Sound knowledge of South African education regulations and compliance requirements
