Your Role & Responsibilities

As a BI Analyst specializing in financial reporting, you'll blend financial acumen with technical problem-solving. You'll:

  • Design & Deliver Pipelines
    : Consolidate finance and operational data using Azure SQL, Data Factory, and Fabric.
  • Develop Robust Models
    : Build semantic models and star schemas to support accurate management and statutory reporting.
  • Build Advanced Dashboards
    : Implement clean, performant DAX (including time intelligence, RLS) for executive-level Power BI dashboards and packs.
  • Support Finance Teams
    : Provide tools for budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Apply Analytics
    : Validate data and use statistical/predictive methods where they enhance reporting.
  • Own Delivery
    : Run workshops, gather requirements, iterate fast, and deploy solutions into production.
  • Mentor Others
    : Guide junior analysts on best practices in modelling, reporting, and technical delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years' experience in BI/analytics or financial reporting roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, Power BI, and DAX.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Xero, Sage, Syspro etc).
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis).
  • Data modelling know-how (facts/dimensions, incremental refresh).
  • Troubleshooting ability across pipeline → model → report.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – able to translate business needs into technical deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice-to-Haves

  • Professional certification (CIMA, CA(SA), CFA, or Microsoft PL-300 / DP-500).
  • Exposure to Databricks, Spark, Delta, or Python for data prep/validation.
  • Experience with CI/CD for Power BI (deployment pipelines, semantic-model versioning).
