Raisebore Assistant

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Matric certificate/ equivalent

Competency B will be an advantage

At least 1 year's Underground Mining and Raisebore experience

Valid Driver's license & own reliable transport

Medically Fit for underground work

Be able to work flexible hours and willing to relocate

Must have no criminal record

Must be able to successfully pass all SAPS and Client Security Clearance checks

Must be from Lydenburg, Jane Furse and Burgersfort areas

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Be willing to grow in the Raiseboring Department

Safety procedures

Problem identification

Safety conscious

Knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act and Regulations

Knowledge of Codes of Practice and Working Guides

Understanding of Mine Language and English

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting of incidents and accidents to direct supervisors without delay

Reporting of all unsafe conditions & unsafe acts to his direct supervisor immediately

Risk assessments conducted for every new & out of the ordinary task

Ensure that all tools & equipment are in good condition and safe to use

Assisting with Maintenance schedules

Assisted with the planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule. Focus must be placed on the following:

Ensure that all the spares and tools are available for the service

Ensure that the machine is cleaned after use

Assist the Raisebore Operator to maintain a proper maintenance program to eliminate breakdowns and keep to satisfactory requirements

Give assistance to the Raisebore Operator with repairs or breakdowns

Assistance with assessing the breakdown and identifying the problem

Obtain all the necessary tools and spare parts to rectify the problem

Be responsible and accountable for tools and equipment

The individual must immediately report to his supervisor should he / she notices a difference in the quality of the equipment or wrong or damaged equipment which was supplied
