Job Advert Summary

Develop, monitor, and maintain project planning to ensure successful delivery, which involves coordinating with project managers, teams, and stakeholders to establish timelines, track progress, and adjust plans as necessary to meet project objectives.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Planning course endorsed by SAPICS or PMI.
  • Attended Primavera P6 or other accredited Planning courses
  • Minimum of 8 years planning experience within a Project management and Marine or Similar Projects.
  • Experience in integration planning across mechanical, electrical, architectural, procurement, quality, and safety disciplines
  • Willing to bese site (Simonstown Dock Yard) with occasional travel to Johannesburg
Duties and Responsibilities

Throughout the Project Process: Working within the Project Team:

  • Handover: Participate and ensure all relevant information on the offer to the client has been received, incl offer Schedule, assumptions, schedule risks, interfaces, Suppliers any other Client requirements applicable
  • Initiation: Participate in Client Kick off, Internal kick off, gather required information as per standard formats and inputs to project and client. Draft initial procurement plan from offer documents as per required formats.
  • Definition: Chair, drive and update procurement plan with relevant Stakeholders. Develop WBS and supporting documentation ie. Site conditions, client, statutory rules. Develop integrated schedule in prescribed format, normally lvl 4. Procurement, resources, working hrs, access etc constraints to be considered. Review plan with project team and assign resources. Verify resources requirements to that of the budget and advise project team on variances Finalize Progress reporting formats to client and from subcontractors
  • Mobilization: Ensure Schedule internal and External approval, baseline setting. Progress reporting starts.
  • Execution: Receive progress updates, internal and by engaging subcontractors. Attend progress meeting, giving feedback on schedule, understand variances and changes to baseline. Work with internal team to resolve variance. Progress reporting as required.
  • Close Out: Project final schedule, indicators, summary of changes and lessons learned
  • Throughout the above process: participate in project meetings, risk reviews, maintain project information and storage as per BNE project requirements to enable spares, materials, or services to be expedited to suit the planned programmed requirements. Prepare and participate in gate and contract reviews as per requirements
  • Bid Support: Where assigned to work with Bidding and Estimation teams for bid compilation and presentation.
