To provide personal, practical, social and emotional support to people in their own homes, in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. The support provided by Care Workers is that which would normally be undertaken by a caring relative and must not include tasks which would normally be undertaken by a qualified nurses.
Apprentice Home Care Workers (Drivers Only)

You will visit our various clients (mainly adults but some children) for calls between 15mins to 8 hours depending on their needs.
You will support them around the home, meals, personal care tasks, in the community, to appointments, shopping, medication, holidays, etc.
Many of our clients are elderly, have learning disabilities, mobility difficulties, sensory impairment and other needs, so you need to be able to work with a diverse set of clients and adapt your practice. The great thing about this is no day is the same.
Main duties and responsibilities ( This job description is not exhaustive and will develop and change over time, within the boundaries of the job purpose)
- To follow the policies and procedures of JohnJasper Care at all times.
- To portray a professional image and represent the company in line with the Company's high standards at all time.
- The duties will include personal care such as assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, the management of continence and rising and retiring.
- Contribute to the ongoing support of people who use our services and their informal carers.
- Contribute to the movement and handling of people who use our services to maximise their physical abilities and mobility.
- Enable people who use our services to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
- Enable people who use our services to achieve physical comfort.
- Assisting in the preparation and making of meals, drinks and snacks.
- Enabling people who use our services to maintain a good level of nutrition and hydration.
- To provide assistance with toileting, including emptying and cleaning of commodes, emptying and changing of catheter bags and the use of aids to continence such as pads.
- Enable people who use our services to access and use toileting facilities.
- To provide assistance with other tasks of daily living that people who use our services cannot manage alone. These may include cleaning, shopping, collection of pension, paying of bills and laundry.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
- Right to live and work in the UK
- A complete and up-to-date CV listing all employment
- References covering the past five years and all regulated activity
- Friendly, sociable, and committed to supporting people with additional needs
- Experience preferred but not essential — full training, induction and shadowing provided
- You will need business insurance on your car insurance policy to start this role. You don't need it during the recruitment stage. You need it before you start shadowing shifts.
As an apprentice you'll:
- complete a level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeship standard
- have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- be on a career path with lots of future potential
